Takudzwa Gwitira

Taku is an environmental lawyer and governance specialist working at the intersection of community conservation, environmental law, and institutional strengthening in Southern Africa. She co-authored a Handbook for Prosecuting Wildlife Crimes, with over 50,000 copies distributed to prosecutors, the judiciary, and law enforcement authorities across Zimbabwe, and developed the country’s first virtual training on wildlife crime and the law. Taku has contributed to wildlife legislation and policy reform at national, regional, and international levels. She serves on the boards of WWF Zimbabwe, Nyanga National Park, and the Law Faculty of the University of Groningen, and is a passionate advocate for community rights and women’s leadership in conservation. She holds degrees from the University of Groningen and Africa University.
