Omagano is currently working at Maliasili, where she plays a crucial role in providing institutional and leadership support to African organizations engaged in community-based conservation. Her expertise is centered around climate change adaptation and natural resource management, with a specific emphasis on community-based approaches. Omagano’s career has been marked by her collaboration with both international grassroots organizations and local entities.
In recognition of her contributions in 2017,Omagano was honored with the “Supporting Climate Change Leaders” grant by the International Development and Research Centre. This grant led her to Berlin, where she served as a Research Analyst, focusing on decision-making support for climate change adaptation.
Being Namibian, Omagano possesses a profound connection to nature and a deep-rooted understanding of the importance of community involvement in conservation efforts. Her upbringing has instilled in her a genuine appreciation for the intricate relationship between people and their environment, motivating her to champion community-driven conservation initiatives.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Omagano channels her passion into the wine industry during her free time. Her goal is to make this industry more accessible, reflecting her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to fostering inclusivity.
