Nusirat Sadiku is a forester specializing in wood science and technology. She is a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Ilorin’s Department of Forest Resources Management in Nigeria. She has authored and co-authored a number of research papers. Her research focuses on developing alternative biomass materials, particularly bamboo, to supplement and complement Nigeria’s depleted wood resources. Aside from teaching, she is an Executive of Nigeria Women in Agricultural Research for Development (NiWARD), where she coordinates NiWARD’s activities in North Central Nigeria.
Nusirat is an African Women in Agricultural Research and Development 2011 Fellow. She also belongs to the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), the Nigerian Forestry Association (FAN), and the Commonwealth Forestry Association (CFA), the Forest and Forest Products Society (FFPS), and the African Forest Forum (AFF).
