Nancy Githaiga
2022 Fellow
Nancy is a scientist and a natural resource governance and management expert who is passionate about making inter and intra-generational equity a reality. She believes it is not a choice between development and conservation, but a just world is possible where people and nature can thrive.
She is inspired by working with communities who are the custodians of our natural resources and believes that this is what can spur sustainable development at scale and sustain a wellspring of rooted advocacy for change. She enjoys working with and inspiring young people to develop a constituency of environmental stewards.
Nancy is particular about belonging to the generation that clearly understands the impacts of our actions or inactions on nature- past and current- and quite afraid that our generation could be the last generation that can do something about it.
