Milha Desta

Milha Desta is an environmental restoration practitioner based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Co-founder of Udet (www.udet.org), a pioneering urban river rehabilitation project, and Anbesa Bike Ride, a monthly cycling event designed to promote sustainable mobility practices.
With a bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences from Addis Ababa University and a master’s degree in Climate Change and International Development from the University of East Anglia, Milha combines academic expertise with on-the-ground action. She is also a Mandela Washington Fellow.
Her ambition extends beyond individual projects; Milha envisions establishing large enterprises that are not only successful economically but also truly regenerative, contributing positively to the environment and society.
