Dr Kristi Maciejewski

Kristi is the Regional Director for Southern and East Africa at Panthera, an NGO dedicated to preserving the future of wild cats and their habitats. With an MSc in Conservation Biology and a PhD in Zoology, Kristi loves being in the field and actively supporting her team on the ground. Panthera’s interventions focus on core protected areas, buffer zones on the boundaries of protected areas as well as in the corridors connecting protected areas. Collaborating with local stakeholders and local communities, Kristi and her team aim to maintain connectivity, improve livelihoods, and foster human-wildlife coexistence. They emphasize a multi-disciplinary approach to conservation, ensuring a holistic strategy for the benefit of both wildlife and people.
