Dr. Amina Aitsi-Selmi is an independent Leadership and Career Coach to leaders working on global challenges climate change, health and inequality. Prior to that, she was an academic clinician working for the UK Government on global policy, including the United Nations Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development frameworks.She also spent time in South Sudan as a humanitarian doctor with Médecins Sans Frontières.
She is originally from Algeria and moved to the UK with her family following the start of the civil war in the 90s. The insights from the journey going from a secure career to working independently and coaching others to do the same are captured in her award-winning book The Success Trap: Why Good People Stay in Jobs They Don’t Like and How to Break Free.
