Sheila Nana Akua Ashong is Deputy Director for Natural Resources in the Environmental Protection Agency of Ghana. She has a BSc. in Natural Resource Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, an MSc in Fisheries Management from the Artic University of Norway and just commencing (2020-2021) a PhD in Integrated Coastal Zone Management at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. She is an institutional focal point for Indigenous Knowledge under the Convention on Biological Diversity and the coordinator of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme in Ghana. Her scientific interests include Environmental Impact Assessment and Education (especially women and youth) education for Sustainable Development.
